Career Compass
Building Fair Career Pathways for Young Migrant Workers
Career Compass is a Nordplus Horizontal project coordinated by Aalborg Institute for Development in cooperation with What The Finland (Finland) and VšĮ Inovacijų biuras / Innovation Office (Lithuania).
The project addresses a structural challenge in the Nordic-Baltic region: a significant number of young migrant workers (aged 16–30) remain in low-skilled employment without access to education or skills training. This situation restricts their career prospects and reduces the ability of labour markets to meet the increasing demand for skilled workers.
During 2025, Career Compass will:
- Conduct in-depth research on barriers in Denmark, Finland, and Lithuania
- Engage policymakers, labour market organisations, and education providers
- Produce a policy report with evidence-based recommendations
The overall objective is to promote systemic solutions that improve access to vocational education and create fairer career pathways for young migrant workers across the region.
