About us
The purpose of What The Finland Association is to promote cultural understanding, wellbeing, and meaningful connections between people of different backgrounds. The association works to build a more open and inclusive society by encouraging interaction, dialogue, and cooperation between individuals and communities. It supports both immigrants and local residents, including youth and adults, by offering guidance, advice, and opportunities for participation in community life.
The association organizes various events and activities aimed at fostering inclusion and preserving cultural traditions while also creating space for new cultural expressions. These include excursions, meetings, courses, workshops, educational and informational sessions, lectures, advisory services, celebrations, and other events that align with the association’s mission of strengthening social cohesion and cultural exchange.
In addition to events and activities, the association creates, develops, and implements projects related to integration, wellbeing, cultural participation, inclusion, and community engagement, under various local, national, and international funding programs.
To fulfill its purpose, the association produces and publish newsletters, reports, press releases, statements, and other educational materials. It also engages in advocacy by making proposals to authorities and decision-makers and collaborates actively with other associations and stakeholders to promote its goals.
