National Preparedness Day 2026
What The Finland celebrated the national preparedness day on February 7. Authorities and civil society organizations jointly recommend that every household should be prepared to cope independently for at least 72 hours in case of disruptions or crises.
Preparedness is not about fear. This day, and the upcoming 112 Day, remind us that help is always just one call away, and that safety, preparedness and caring for one another are skills we can all learn.
To make safety and preparedness skills accessible for everyone, we continue with important follow-up activities during spring in Vaasa – in English:
🔴 March 3 – Workshop with Finnish Red Cross voluntary preparedness and first aid group
🔴 April – Lecture 72h preparedness and visit to voluntary firefighters
🔴 May 18 – Workshop with voluntary women in Finnish national defence
Also during the Spring, we’ll organize a one-day 72h preparedness instructor training in English.
✨ More information and registration details coming closer to each event
✨ All these activities are made possible with the support granted by @opvaasavasa @oplansirannikko OP Financial Group.
