The IE-Experts Journey: A Rollercoaster of Insights!
By Khusbu Tauro
Well, folks, I’m officially 3 meetings deep into the IE-Experts Project, and wow, what a ride
it’s been so far!
We kicked things off with an exercise where we answered some deep questions like, “How
satisfied are you with your life right now?” I mean, who doesn’t love a good soul searching
moment, right? I ended up realizing that satisfaction is kind of like trying to find the
perfect pair of socks, sometimes it’s just not there until you put in the effort!
Then came the storytelling part. Oh boy, if I had a dollar for every time I thought I knew how
to tell a story, I’d have a nice little fund to hire someone to tell my stories for me! We
learned about all the different ways to tell stories, and I’ll admit, I was like, “Wait, that’s
how you tell a story?” Mind-blowing stuff! It made me realize that hearing someone’s
story isn’t just about the plot, it’s about feeling it. Sometimes, the way they tell it sticks with
you longer than the actual words.
Fast forward to today’s 3rd meeting, and we had the amazing Sini Kirvesmäki join
us. Not only is she an educated xxpert by experience, but she also
shared her own recovery story. Her insights on how to be authentic when sharing stories
really hit home. And a key takeaway? It’s okay to say “NO” if you’re not comfortable sharing
something. Sometimes, boundaries are just as important as the story itself!
